OIC Foreign Relations Breakthrough Project
No matter what the challenge is, the best solutions always require the need for far greater cooperation. To attain greater cooperation it is critical that expanded dimensions of relating are attained. It is clear that many do not recognize this most critical need. Many believe that a “better deal”, a “greater threat” or “more pressure” is needed.However, even when coercive or manipulative tactics are employed and have “seemed” to work, they often fail later. When people are forced or manipulated into agreement, the agreement stands on shaky ground. It is important to make the distinction between agreement and submission. They are far apart. It is our view that the successful pursuit of cooperation is dependent to no small degree on the “relating evolution” of those formulating and executing their foreign policies. Although a foreign policymaker or negotiator may relate well enough to friends, political allies and family, the ability to turn adversaries and sworn enemies into genuine friends is quite another thing. We believe most foreign policymakers have that ability, but for the most part it is not demonstrated.
To gain unprecedented breakthroughs in cooperation from adversaries leading to concrete and mutually satisfying agreements, it is necessay to gain greater access to one’s latent power to relate and identify unrecognized obstacles. This doesn't imply that anyone is un-skilled, deficient or incapable in any way. It simply means that there are no limits to our abilities and gaining greater access is critical.
It is possible to generate unprecedented partnership, profound respect, understanding and affinity where it may not currently exist. Another way to say this is that it is possible to relate far beyond what currently seems possible and to get through to those that “appear” to be extremely difficult.
Many believe that it is not possible to relate at extraordinary new levels. Such views are understandable but not accurate which has been proven within the human potential disciplines. Although OIC will not guarantee any specific result for any specific individual, group or government, we do know from decades of experience in the human potential field that those who pursue certain programs are known to experience outstanding relating, communication and cooperation breakthroughs.
