OIC Volunteer Opportunities

As a volunteer for the Organization for International Cooperation, I have had the great privilege and  opportunity to participate with men and women from the diplomatic community at the United Nations, engaging in questions such as “What will it take to cooperate at an international level to bring about real change versus business as usual”.

The Organization for International Cooperation gives volunteers an opportunity to know oneself as a global citizen engaged in making a global difference. From being a volunteer for the organization, I have a new appreciation for what is possible for all of us as a result of global cooperation.

-Armand DiCarlo, Former New York Center Manager, Landmark Education

"Being Special Assistant to the President of the Organization for International Cooperation has been a transformational and enlightening experience. I have had the honor to meet and speak to employees of the Department of State as well as foreign embassies in Washington, DC to inform them of the ground-breaking opportunities offered by the programs OIC advocates. I feel that my efforts to advocate for breakthroughs in diplomacy today will result in the prevention of widespread warfare tomorrow."

-Ryan Ellard, New York University  2/2009

"My internship with OIC changed my thinking in many different ways. At first, I didn't know what I was doing and I didn't know if I was on the right track, but OIC gave me a chance to think about non-profit organizations as well as world peace more seriously.
I started to realize that I am one of those people who really wants to contribute myself to the world's development. So I am now taking courses related to human rights as well as poverty and welfare."

                                                 - Jae Nam, New York University

Basic OIC Volunteer Requirements

OIC’s project progress is a result of the committed action of our volunteers. The time commitments for volunteering are flexible and vary. Our project progress demands a high level of integrity. All volunteers are expected to keep their promises rigorously. This includes calls returned promptly, tasks completed when promised and being in communication with other volunteers, the project coordinator and officials as promised.

We require volunteers who act as leaders versus followers. Our volunteers are expected to be “unstoppable” and highly tenacious in the face of adversity. We have no credibility as a transformative organization expecting officials the world over to step outside their “comfort zones”, to communicate beyond the norm and to act “outside the box” if we do not do the same!

It is critical that we remain in a state of consistent urgency realizing that the security and well being of mankind in on the line with our advocacy.
